M&H 057: What Doth Life

The What Doth Life segment; the rest of the show; the whole thing:

What Doth life anyway? It’s hard to define. What Doth Life is a sort of musician’s co-op, whatdothlife not really a label, sort of a brand with nothing to sell. Seven Days VT said: “[Windsor-based] What Doth Life confirms that something strange and wonderful is indeed a-brewin’ in the Upper Valley. Who knew? My guess is that the next awesome crew of likeminded songwriters and rockers won’t emerge from the state capital or Vermont’s most populous city. Instead, keep your eye on Windsor, and newish collective/label What Doth Life.”

If anybody can ‘splain what it’s all about, Kiel Alarcon can. brendankiel We’re expecting to have this Windsor lad with us in some fashion, either on the phone or in the studio, with or without co-conspirator Brendan Dangelo. (Kiel’s on your right, Brendon’s on the left.)

Wednesday night around 7:00 on WOOL-FM, 91.5 in the broadcast area and streaming worldwide from www.wool.fm

M&H 056: Coffee and Donuts on an Angry Red Planet

Thanks to drop-ins Mister Coffee and Donuts the Divorce Lawyer!

Open topic show! Everything’s on the table. Stop by, call in. open It’s me and Drew and folks like you, gabbin’ and a-yakkin’ (something-something rhymes with “land”). We’ll be hitting the papers, talking about stuff to do in the upcoming week, about goings-on, about hopes and dreams and solutions, about nonsense, about whatever floats up.

We’ll be at 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls from 7-9 on Wednesday night. We’ll be taking phone calls at 802-460-9665 extension 100. We’ll be trying to keep an eye on social media, but we frankly haven’t been all that great at it lately.

M&H 055: Aram Polster of Precision Valley Coffee Roasters

We’re planning to have a live on-the-air coffee tasting on Wednesday night between 7 and 8 PM with Aram Polster, the founder of Precision Valley Coffee Roasters. aram polster C’mon down and check out the joe! For real — the studio will be open at 33 Bridge St in Bellows Falls, and you’re invited. We won’t make you go on the air if you don’t want to. Precision is the place that supplies the Flat Iron Exchange with their beans, so you already know it’s good. If you know where Flat Iron is, the WOOL studio is a couple blocks down the street on the island.

Aram Polster founded Precision Valley Coffee Roasters in Springfield VT, which roasts small batches of high quality, pvcr cooperatively sourced beans from small farms throughout the coffee-producing world. He started roasting beans back in 2006 on Smith Island in the Chesapeake Bay after realizing it was the only way he could get a decent cup of coffee.

He now roasts his beans in Springfield on land shared with Vine Sanctuary, a haven for animals who have escaped or been rescued from the meat, dairy, and egg industries or other abusive circumstances.

And we might talk about what it’s like to be a NYC park ranger mountie, or about rubber stamps, or the ups and downs of Law School, or who-knows-what-else.

(As seems to happen just about every month, Mark’s going to be in the station board meeting during most or all of the show, leaving Drew to have all the fun. But it sounds like DJ Skar will be stopping in, so maybe Drew will have a cohost!)
